Elizabeth (Liz) Konick is originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin and a graduate of Cornell University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education from New York University. Liz joined the Foreign Service in 2003 and her first posting was as a Consular Officer in Monterrey, Mexico where she served as the Assistant Director for the H2B visa program. She has worked in Washington DC as a Political Officer in the Office of European Affairs for the European Union and as the Operations Manager in the Secretary’s Operations Center. Liz recently completed a four-year tour in Belgrade as Supervisory General Services Officer.
Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Liz was the vice-president of sales and marketing for Reebok International and worked in international business development for several large multi-nationals.
She is married to Alex Konick, who works for the State Department in the Office of Information Management and Liaison (CA/VO/I). They have two teenage children, Abe and Cassie. When not working, Liz enjoys hiking, painting, and exploring new places.
